Greetings and welcome to Early Music Michigan 2016-2017. We have an exciting 20th season coming up and are eager to share it with you. Early Music Michigan has specialized in bringing you rarely performed music dating back hundreds of years, as well as music from our own time, performed in beautiful spaces with wonderful acoustics. We continue that tradition with the following performances this season:

Music from Medici Wedding, Intermedios. La Pellegrina is a masterpiece first performed in 1589 for the spectacular Florentine wedding of Ferdinando de’Medici to Christine of Lorraine that includes the music of Malvezzi, Marenzio, Caccini, Bardi, de Cavalieri, and Peri.

For this concert, we will be returning to our most frequent performance venue for many years, the former Episcopal Cathedral, now the Kalamazoo Valley Family Church.
