Greetings and welcome to Early Music Michigan 2018-2019. We have an exciting 22nd season coming up and are eager to share it with you. Early Music Michigan has specialized in bringing you rarely performed music dating back hundreds of years, as well as music from our own time, performed in beautiful spaces with wonderful acoustics. We continue that tradition with our first performance this season:
Would You Harbor Me: Music of Longing and Belonging
Saturday, December 8, 2018 at 7:30 PM First Congregational Church, 345 W. Michigan Ave., Kalamazoo Tickets: Adult $20 Student $5
The sixteen voices of Early Music Michigan will sing a broad range of music which speaks to the themes of peace, hope, and inclusion. A variety of prophetic voices are represented, speaking to ancient longings, as well as contemporary hopes and fears that we are facing in today’s fractured and contentious world. Be prepared to be confronted with music that both soothes and challenges. The concert presents renaissance music by Palestrina, Victoria, and Esquivel, as well as contemporary pieces by Arvo Pärt and Richard Causton.
Look for us to send you more information in the new year about other concerts and events that are being planned.
